
In the summer of 2004 a group of Fairmount citizens gathered together at the Fairmount Public Library to discuss community support for the Library. They decided that the time was right to organize for support of their community library.
From that meeting was formed the Friends of the Fairmount Public Library to support and encourage our community library and its benefits. This simple page is maintained by the Friends' former secretary for the benefit of the Friends and the general public.

The Friends meets in the back room of the Fairmount Public Library. Meetings are on the first Tuesday evening of every month at 6:30 p.m..
The Friends holds their Annual Meeting every first Saturday of December. Formerly held at the Fairmount Lions Club, the Annual Meeting is now at the new Fairmount Public Library. During this event new officers are elected and a guest author gives a presentation.
Individuals, families and businesses who support the goals of our community library are welcome to join the Friends. We welcome your support through your membership fee, your time and your talents to aiding our library, especially during its transition to new and better quarters.
