ice storm

weather

It took me the better part of two hours to get home from work because of a storm of ice and sleet that forced me to drive slowly in order to keep from sliding off into a ditch like I did a couple of months ago. Then I found that, due to the freezing rain out of the north, my front door was frozen shut. I had to borrow a crowbar from my folks to unblock it.

The ice storm was bad enough to force the library to close early and to cancel this month's Friends of the Fairmount Public Library meeting. I would have been late for it anyway, as I did not make it home until around seven.

work

I am slowly getting the Macs done. The stationary iMacs in Education Resources are now finished; there is even an old iMac G4 for the legacy educational software for Mac OS Classic. I finished the older iMacs in Reference this afternoon; and the newer ones will be done by the end of the week.

I need to work on the Institutional Repository, which currently is accessible only inside the campus network. But I wanted to get the reimaging of the stationary Macs out of the way first.
